Emphasis is placed on understanding definitions, working with limits and sequences, and reasoning about convergence, continuity, and approximation. Proof-based intuition is introduced where necessary, not as an end in itself, but as a way to clarify why results hold and how assumptions matter.
Preparation for examinations follows from this approach. Students learn to recognize standard problem structures, apply the appropriate tools with discipline, and produce clear, correct solutions under time constraints.

The course develops a practical understanding of accounting mechanisms as they operate inside an organization, from transaction recording to the preparation and interpretation of financial statements. Emphasis is placed on internal coherence, valuation choices, and the way accounting information reflects the economic reality of the firm under Swiss standards.
Examination preparation is integrated into this framework. Students learn to analyze business situations, apply the appropriate accounting treatment, and produce clear, consistent solutions that meet HSG academic and exam requirements. The objective is operational reliability.
